  • 2001 FOREST FRACTION – Based on each town’s summary of the 2011 update of the 2001 NLCD using a combination of three forest categories:  DECIDUOUS FOREST (41) - areas dominated by trees generally greater than 5 meters tall, and greater than 20% of total vegetation cover. More than 75% of the tree species shed foliage simultaneously in response to seasonal change; EVERGREEN FOREST (42) - areas dominated by trees generally greater than 5 meters tall, and greater than 20% of total vegetation cover. More than 75% of the tree species maintain their leaves all year. Canopy is never without green foliage; and MIXED FOREST (43) - areas dominated by trees generally greater than 5 meters tall, and greater than 20% of total vegetation cover. Neither deciduous nor evergreen species are greater than 75% of total tree cover.
  • 2006 FOREST FRACTION - Based on each town’s summary of the 2011 update of the 2006 NLCD using a combination of three forest categories:  DECIDUOUS FOREST (41) - areas dominated by trees generally greater than 5 meters tall, and greater than 20% of total vegetation cover.
